Rapid Response results in two people arrested and charged with Burglary |
||
|
On Friday 23 January, at around 9pm, officers were called to the NW11 area after reports of people attempting to break into a residential property. Officers arrived within five minutes and quickly identified potential suspects. Following a short foot chase, two men were arrested.
Police have linked this incident to another burglary that occurred earlier the same evening in the NW11 area.
Tom O’Leary and Thomas Doran, both aged 19, have now been charged with two counts of residential burglary and have been remanded in custody to appear at court.
These arrests follow four others made on Tuesday 20 January in the NW4 area, after residents reported a suspicious vehicle. Officers were on scene within four minutes, and four people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.
Inspector Tom Hinson, from the Barnet Community Policing Team, said:
“We know burglary is a real concern for residents, and I hope these recent arrests show that we are working hard to tackle this issue. On both occasions it was a call from a member of the public that alerted us, and I would really encourage people to report any suspicious activity to us. Your information genuinely makes a difference.”
We continue to carry out targeted patrols in affected areas and work closely with local communities to prevent further offences. | ||
